Classes cater for the young and old alike, male and female equally. Our youngest students start at four years old and some of our eldest students are well over sixty...... So it is never too late to start.

All classes train for one hour, twice a week. Some are special children classes, however most involve adults and children together. We also hold advanced classes for blue belts above once a week. This is specialised training for students wanting to advance their skills further in form, self defence, sparring, timber breaking and students preparing for gradings.

Your local classes are taught by qualified instructors, each have Australian Government Blue Cards and are First Aid Certified. All instructors have a minimum of five years experience and cater to all aspects of the students development. Each class is exciting and varied which keeps the mind and body active. Classes consist of a full body warm up involving some calisthenics, advanced stretching techniques and martial arts suppleness movements.

We teach all the various blocking, striking, punching and kicking techniques of Tae Kwon Do which is said to be the essence of the art. Here the instructors explain and teach detailed body movements to achieve practical self defence. Our kicking involves stationary, jumping, turning, spinning and sliding techniques that give us the spectacular and devastating capabilities that we see in the art of Tae Kwon Do.

Self defence techniques are taught from the basic to the advanced. This involves many throws, wrist locks, leg sweeps and evasive manoeuvres. Here we use Hapkido techniques that use the attackers force against themselves. This provides us with a very effective self defence that is suitable to all body sizes and gender.

Form is a set pattern of movements involving defending, kicking and striking techniques. Here the student can develop the skills required for each individual technique and demonstrate them combined together to make a fluent pattern of movements. Each belt level has a set pattern (or form) that must be learned and practiced every class. We teach Palgwe forms and are an essential part of traditional Tae Kwon Do that Master Lee was taught over 50 years ago in Korea. Forms are a crucial stepping stone to developing advanced level skills.

Sparring drills and combinations are taught which puts all attacking and defending techniques together into a combat situation. With our club providing protective shin & instep pads and mitts for the hands, students spar against each other in a range of non contact to full contact. Tae Kwon Do rules apply which does not permit punching to the head or any attacking below the belt. This allows the student to practice fighting combinations against an opponent with control and safety in mind.

Once a student has learnt the correct techniques; timber breaking is taught. Timber breaking involves various kicking techniques applied to various thickness of pine timber and tests the students skill, power, speed and accuracy. A student can then realise their capabilities without having to prove themselves by being aggressive towards other people.

Master Lee's philosophy is based on good manners and always treating others with respect. We teach discipline, modesty and self control.

Once training with Moon Lee Tae Kwon Do an individual becomes physically fit, confident, calm and an all round better person.
