BELT RANKING SYSTEM
Below is the belt ranking system for Moon Lee Tae Kwon Do. Students will progress through these levels on their journey to become proficient in this martial art form. Each belt, excluding white is comprised of an additional striping system.
White represents purity and the beginning of the students knowledge in learning the art of Tae Kwon Do.
Yellow represents warmth of the sun that allows the seed to grow. Students at this level are building a strong foundation much like a plants roots reaching into the soil. (Stripes x 2 – white)
Blue is the colour of the sky. The natural direction of the growing plant is always upwards. Students at this level are reaching new heights of learning. (Stripes x 3 – white)
Red is the sign of danger. Students have learned much, but know very little. (Stripes x 3 – white)
Black is the colour of mastery. Students at this level start a new chapter and beginning. The apprenticeship of coloured belts is over and the road to understanding begins. (Stripes x 9 – white)
