AIMS OF TAE KWON DO

A tenet is an opinion, principle or doctrine that a person holds or maintains as true.

The four tenets of Tae Kwon Do: modesty, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit should serve as a guide for all Moon Lee Tae Kwon Do students.

MODESTY

Being able to define right from wrong. To have a conscience and be humble.

PERSEVERANCE

To persist in an endeavour or undertaking in spite of counter influences, opposition or discouragement. Dedication.

SELF-CONTROL

The ability of a person to exert their will over the inhibitions, impulses, emotions or desires of their body or self. Patience. Discipline.

INDOMITABLE SPIRIT

Having the right attitude and maintaining inner strength regardless of winning or losing. Not allowing one’s principles to be broken, defeated, or conquered. Bravery. Courage.

    Develop a thorough understanding and an accurate perspective of the world around you.

  • FEEL RIGHTLY

    Remain in control of your emotions. Do not allow emotions to cloud your judgment.

  • THINK RIGHTLY

    Focus your thoughts on good, not evil. Believe in yourself and keep a positive attitude.

  • SPEAK RIGHTLY

    Say what you mean and always tell the truth. Do not gossip or speak poorly of others.

  • ORDER RIGHTLY

    Use your authority to accomplish just deeds. Never influence others to act improperly.

  • CONTRIBUTE RIGHTLY

    Dedicate yourself to worthy causes. Consistently do your share and fulfil all responsibilities.

  • USE ABILITY

    Train hard to achieve and maintain your highest level of mental and physical aptitude.

  • CONDUCT RIGHTLY

    Try to set a good example through your actions. Never act in an immoral or harmful manner.
